Visa Balaji Temple

Visa Balaji is the other name of Chilkur Balaji :

Chilkur Balaji temple is also called as the Visa Balaji temple, as it is specifically popular among devotees who want to get visas to go abroad. To see many young people paying their respects to the temple is a very common sight.

A significant aspect of the Visa Balaji temple is that there is no hundi. Instead, tradition states that the only fee the lord prefers is for the devotees to makerounds of the temple, called pradakshanas. The normal procedure is to make 11 pradakshanas and then express their wish. During this time, devotees shall promise to make 108 more pradakshanas if their wish is granted. This is what the devotees normally do to acquire a visa for going overseas.
